About Activate Body Boost

What is Activate?

Activate Body Boost is a daily probiotic boost containing a unique strain of bifidobacterium. Probiotics are ‘good’ bacteria that help maintain the balance of ‘good’ and ‘bad’ bacteria in your digestive system. They help strengthen your body’s natural defences and improve digestion.

Find out more about your defence system.

The unique strain of bifidobacterium in Activate is called Bifidobacterium animalis ssp lactis (BB-12™) or, as we like to call it, Bifido–Defensis™. Bifidobacterium are among the most predominant bacteria in the human gut. In babies, almost all gut bacteria are bifidobacterium. Levels of bacteria in the gut slowly decline after weaning, through adolescence and adult life and decline more rapidly in old age.

Stress, antibiotics, alcohol, poor diet or irregular eating habits can reduce the level of healthy bacteria in our systems. This happens in addition to the natural reduction in bifidobacteria levels as we get older.

How is Activate Body Boost good for me?

Activate fuels your body to live a healthy, active lifestyle by maintaining your natural defences. Bifido-Defensis™ has been extensively researched and studies have shown it to:

  • Help replenish the natural balance of intestinal flora
  • help keep your immune system healthy

The primary role of the human gastrointestinal tract is to digest and absorb nutrients from food. However the intestine also provides a vital defence role against the constant presence of disease causing bacteria and viruses which are consumed everyday in food. In fact the intestine is the largest immune organ inside your body – it makes up 70% of your immune system. Protection against harmful viruses and bacteria is ensured by introducing good bacteria into the gut.
